Why do you draw/paint – make art – What is it that draws you?
When I was younger, before I started drawing, I was very much into sports and grew up thinking this was what I would make my living of. But then I got really sick. The illness kept me in bed for about a half year and this was when I started drawing.
And now the only time I can relax is when I’m drawing. I’m stressed in all other situations and tend to drift away. But when I’m drawing I forget myself and everything becomes a natural rythm which carries out by itselves.

What projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working on two books. One with my friend Fryd Frydendalh, consisting of her photographs and my drawings.
The other is a project I have been trying to get started for the past six to seven years. It is a story about the borderland between Turkey and Armenia, and is inspired by interviews with my father.
It will come out as a cartoon in about a year if the deadline is kept.

Otherwise Torpedo 1936 by Jordi Bennet
Hard Boiled by Geoff Darrow
Hvid & sort som mælk & blod by Erik Hjorth Nielsen (only published in Danish)
The Summer of Yes by Fryd Frydendahl, whom I’m also working with, made this book earlier this year (2012) and it is really worth to tracking down! ! ! !
Then I this book recently. I can’t remember the title but it had a front cover with a photograph of the Greek national strike it was called something like the photos of the general strike. This was also an awesome book.

Aside from painting, drawing and making illustrations, are there other things you’d like to do in your career?
No not really.
What’s the last art exhibition/artwork you went to see that you really enjoyed?
There was this exhibtion recently in the grocery store Rema 1000 where a lot of small publishers displayed their books. It was part of the Rema 1000 week and the week up until the event they advertised about the exhibition on all the receipts. It was cool and I really love when people publish their own books.
